Course Description

This one-month course is an overview of professional, legal, and ethical practices including educational policy and perspectives. Critical examination of historical backgrounds, philosophies and theories and their relationships with assessment, curriculum, instructional, and learning pedagogy to meet individual and collective learners' academic and social equity needs are addressed. Emphasis will be on the meaning of effective communication and collaborative partnerships with and through administrators, professionals, community members, families, and learners from diverse backgrounds. Cultural pluralism and multiliteracy development as well as sociological and psychological challenges that may arise will also be discussed.
