Course Description:

Es un estudio a fondo de las funciones gerenciales en la adaptaciandón de las organizaciones al ambiente global. El curso enfatiza las caracterandísticas del entorno que hacen crandítica la administraciandón estratandégica en el andéxito de las organizaciones, incluyendo la evaluaciandón de las fortalezas y debilidades organizacionales, la identificaciandón de oportunidades y amenazas, la optimizaciandón de respuesta a eventos no planeados, y el anandálisis estratandégico en entornos turbulentos. Analiza tambiandén los entornos socio-culturales, polandíticos, econandómicos, andéticos, tecnolandógicos y de regulaciandón que tienen impacto en los negocios de un entorno multicultural. El curso pone especial andénfasis en el impacto del Tratado de libre comercio con Norteamandérica (TLC) y el GATT (hoy OMC) en la administraciandón estratandégica de las empresas. Explora las oportunidades globales de negocio que surgen de las nuevas tecnologandías, tanto para pequeandñas como para grandes empresas.

Course Learning Outcomes:
  • Analizar la estrategia de una compaandñandía, su posiciandón comercial y la forma como puede adquirir una ventaja competitiva sostenible.
  • Evaluar la estructura del negocio, su estrategia, mercadeo, funciones financieras y de operaciandón y funciones de administraciandón general relacionadas.
  • Llevar a cabo una inspecciandón estratandégica en una variedad de industrias y situaciones de competencia, especialmente en ambientes de negocios globales.
  • Diseandñar una estrategia de negocios, considerar varias alternativas de estrategias, utilizar el anandálisis de andamp;#8220;quandé siandamp;#8221; para evaluar los cursos de acciandón alternativos y tomar e implementar decisiones estratandégicas.
  • Ajustar las capacidades funcionales de una compaandñandía a los factores del entorno responsables del andéxito de organizaciandón.
  • Evaluar el rol o roles de los gerentes generales y los gerentes funcionales en la formulaciandón de decisiones estratandégicas y los procesos de organizaciandón por medio de los cuales se ejecutan las estrategias.
