Department Head: Dr. Brian P. Simpson
With a particular focus on some of the measurable aspects of business, including finance, economics, and management science, the Department of Finance and Economics offers a finance and economics degree in financial management and a minor or concentration in economics. To be successful in finance and economics careers, one needs to have a solid foundation in the principles and practices, as well as their applications. A degree in finance equips one with the expertise to ascertain an organization’s financial health and make accurate recommendations for maximizing value. Economics enable one to make rational choices and understand the nature of wealth production in the economy. The Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Associate of Science in Business are also offered through the department.
