SYE601 Systems Analysis & Design Eval
Lead Faculty: Dr. Shekar Viswanathan
Course Description
An in depth study of system analysis and design evaluation. The emphasis is on using various modeling tools to predict system performance and evaluate
various system alternatives under multiple design criteria and conditions of risk and uncertainty. Use of calculus and MS Excel are required.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze and evaluate various system designs to improve existing systems and choose best designs for new system implementations.
- Utilize various modeling tools for analyzing and evaluating systems:
Decision theory, alternative generation, risk and uncertainty, and multiple criteria. Economic evaluation and cash flow analysis. Constrained and unconstrained optimization, linear and non-linear programming. Queuing systems and stochastic models. Control theory, statistical process control, and project control.
