South Texas College (STC) and National University (NU) celebrate the first anniversary of their partnership, which expands academic pathways and scholarship opportunities for students and professionals across the Rio Grande Valley. During a special event attended by local education, community, and business leaders, STC President Dr. Ricardo J. Solis highlights the collaboration as “a transformative step toward accessible, high-quality education for working professionals in the region.”
The partnership enables eligible STC bachelor’s degree graduates to transition into NU master’s programs with a 25% tuition scholarship. STC employees, their spouses, and dependents also qualify for tuition reductions in graduate and doctoral programs. “NU was founded with the mission to serve working adults, parents, and military learners,” says Eric Roe, NU dean and regional vice president for Texas. “We’re excited to expand opportunities in regions like the RGV, where demand for flexible, career-focused education continues to grow.” The celebration also includes a $2,500 donation from NU to the STC Foundation to support local scholarships, reaffirming the university’s commitment to expanding access and impact in the community.
