The San Diego Cyber Clinic marks its first anniversary with a community celebration at Snapdragon Stadium, bringing together regional leaders, educators, and cybersecurity experts. Founded in partnership with the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE), Cal State San Marcos, San Diego State University, and National University, with support from Google.org and The Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, the clinic provides free cybersecurity services to local businesses and hands-on training for students preparing for high-demand cyber careers. In its first year, the clinic supports more than 30 small businesses, 18 faculty members, and 170 students, strengthening the region’s cyber resilience while advancing workforce development.
National University plays a key role in the multi-institution collaboration, offering practical, career-focused learning experiences that help students build essential cybersecurity and AI skills. “The San Diego Cyber Clinic is advancing our mission to train the next generation of cyber leaders while safeguarding community organizations,” says Matthew Nagamine of The Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics. Supported by Google’s Cybersecurity Clinics Fund, the program stands as a national model for building a diverse, inclusive cyber workforce equipped to protect critical infrastructure and strengthen digital security for all.
