National University has unveiled The Nest, a first-of-its-kind student support hub built to meet the needs of online, working, and non-traditional learners. Opened May 9 at NU’s San Diego campus, The Nest offers a flexible co-learning environment with access to academic and career services, study and collaboration spaces, and child care partnerships. A second location is set to open later this year in Escondido, with additional sites planned in collaboration with community colleges and local organizations.
“The typical student today is an ANDer™, a learner balancing education and work, parenting, military service, or caregiving,” said Dr. Mark D. Milliron, president and CEO of National University. “This is about flipping the script for the hardworking students we serve, giving them the resources they need to not just persist, but thrive.” The Nest supports NU’s Whole Human Education™ model by integrating academic, financial, and emotional supports under one roof. Executive Vice President Dr. Chris Graham added, “This is about more than just space, it’s about removing barriers to success and empowering students to reach their academic and career goals.”
