Hundreds of San Diego’s most generous and community-minded leaders will gather aboard the USS Midway Museum on September 12 for the National University Foundation Gala, a signature annual event dedicated to supporting underserved students through scholarships, emergency assistance, and holistic student success initiatives. The evening will also recognize National University’s 2025 Humanitarians of the Year: Jeanne McAlister, founder of the McAlister Institute, and former San Diego Chargers great Rolf Benirschke and his wife Mary for their remarkable contributions to the region.
Dr. Mark D. Milliron, president and CEO of National University, emphasized that the Foundation’s mission reflects NU’s long-standing commitment to working adults, military-affiliated students, and other nontraditional learners. “The NU Foundation provides a mechanism to raise funds that help students transform their lives and achieve their dreams,” Dr. Milliron shared with GB Magazine. Funds raised at the event will help advance NU’s Whole Human Education™ model, supporting academic, career, financial, and emotional well-being to help learners succeed in school and beyond.
