2004-08-27 National University Ranks 1st in California in Granting Master’s Degrees to Native Americans

La Jolla, Calif. – National University provides more master’s degrees in all disciplines to Native Americans than any other college or university in California, according to Black Issues in Higher Education. 

In total, National University conferred 25 master’s degrees to Native Americans in the 2002-2003 academic year, a 79 percent increase over the previous year which places it among the top 10 U.S. colleges and universities in that category.  Black Issues in Higher Education published its annual rankings of the top 100 colleges and universities providing graduate degrees to minority students on July 29.  Its rankings are based upon data from the U.S. Department of Education.

By specific disciplines, National University also ranks first in California in conferring master’s degrees in education to Native Americans, and ranks among the top five in California in granting Native Americans master’s degrees in business, management and marketing.
