Attention, Lakers fans! National University has partnered with the Los Angeles Lakers to provide the NU Lakers Scholarship, a $10,000 tuition award for eligible Los Angeles County residents who demonstrate exceptional commitment to strengthening and supporting those around them. Together, we’re honoring future leaders committed to making a positive impact in their communities. Two recipients will be selected and formally awarded during the Lakers game on February 7, 2026.
About the Scholarship
- $10,000 total, awarded as $1,000 per class for up to 10 classes
- Two recipients to be selected
- Applicants must begin classes by May 4, 2026
- New and current students across associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs are eligible
How It Works
To be considered, applicants must:
- Submit the scholarship application by January 9, 2026
- Complete the admissions application to National University by April 13, 2026, and complete all admissions requirements to begin your program by May 4, 2026
- Pursue an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree
- Be a resident of Los Angeles County
- Be able to attend the February 7, 2026 Lakers game in person to receive the award
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application before applying for the scholarship
- Begin Classes by May 4, 2026
