Dr. James E. Guffey

Dr. Guffey has been a National University faculty member since 2003. He is currently the lead faculty for the BSCJA and the ASCJA. Prior to employment with National University, he was a police officer with the Oakland, California Police Department from 1973-1986. He is retired from the US Army Reserve at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is well-published and has many articles which have been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has one published textbook. As the lead faculty for the National University undergraduate criminal justice administration degree, Dr. Guffey states “I assure you that National University has one of the best criminal justice administration programs among all of the 2- and 4-year institutions in California.”
