Journalism, Film and Entertainment Arts
Department Head: Dr. Sara Kelly
A hub of creativity and innovation, the Department of Journalism, Film, and Entertainment Arts is home to graduate and undergraduate journalism programs, including digital journalism. Film and digital design, and a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Cinema and Professional Screenwriting are also available.
Our programs immerse students in the expanding digital and entertainment media marketplace. Students can earn a journalism or film degree, working with professionals in the field to imagine new ways of creating entertainment content, delivering news, and engaging in the world. From breaking news reporting and documentary storytelling to film, television, transmedia, and social media, students learn the technical and creative skills that enable them to succeed. Graduates may pursue careers as directors, producers, writers, journalists, content creators, educators, entrepreneurs, and executives.
