Course DescriptionDevelopment of advanced clinical reasoning and assessment skills to determine client health status and needs. Application of physiological, pathophysiological, and psychosocial concepts with implications for Nurse Anesthesia.
- Evaluate the characteristics and competencies of advanced nursing practice and the role of the nurse anesthetist.
- Formulate evidence based decision making in the provision of clinical services to individual clients, including health assessment, diagnosis and intervention, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, and prescription of medications.
- Appraise the sources of evidence that can inform the practice of nurse anesthetists, including health indicators, research, and clinical guidelines.
- Develop health assessment skills in the simulation laboratory and clinical components.
