Southern Student Checklist
Step 1: Submit Application for Degree through the Student Portal to sign up for your degree and the Commencement Ceremony. Deadline to submit is April 25th. Applications after this date are accepted but your name cannot appear in the ceremony program.
Step 2: You will receive an e-mail confirming your acceptance to participate in the Commencement Ceremony and directing you to the web site where you can print your guest e-tickets. Deadline to order your e-tickets is May 2nd. Requests for e-tickets submitted after this date are accepted but e-tickets are not guaranteed.
Step 3 (Optional): Fill out the Publicity Release Form. We are interested in hearing your unique story.
Step 4: Order your cap and gown from Jostens either online or by calling (800) 854-7464. Deadline to order is April 10th. (Orders after this date will require rush order shipping.) You also have the option to order personalized announcements from Jostens. Traditionally, announcements are mailed about three weeks before an event.
If you or your guests need to make hotel reservations you can find information at the San Diego Convention Center web site.
Provide your guests with their e-tickets, maps, and parking information.
