Course Prerequisite(s):
Course Description: Course examines 21st-century mediated communication systems and technology. Theory and methods used in creating, shaping, encoding, and transmitting mediated messages for personal and professional communications are examined. Software and skills for encoding mediated messages into text, graphics, audio, and video are learned and practiced.
Course Learning Outcomes:
  • Compare key mediated messages.
  • Evaluate and select messages for appropriate mediated communication system(s).
  • Apply design theories and skills to the creation and delivery of mediated messages.
  • Demonstrate software skills needed to encode messages into graphics, podcasts, or? vodcasts.
  • Integrate graphics, audio, podcasts, video, and vodcasts as needed into personal? and professional communications.
  • Integrate graphics, audio, podcasts, video, and vodcasts as needed into personal? and professional communications.
  • Demonstrate design theories and strategies for mediated messages.
  • Evaluate mediated messages.
