About the Scholarship
With your Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), you're already halfway to your bachelor's degree at NU. The ADT scholarship helps make the rest more affordable. Through our partnership with California Community Colleges, your AA-T, AS-T, or ADN transfers seamlessly to help you reduce tuition costs, complete your degree sooner, and reach your goals.

Transfer-Friendly BA/BS Degrees
*NU extends the ADT scholarship offer to any transfer student who has completed an AA-T, AS-T, or ADN from an approved CA Community College and meets the eligibility requirements. Connect with an Enrollment Advisor to learn more.
Eligibility Criteria
CCC Transfer Students who have earned an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T) and transfer directly to NU within 36 months of applying are eligible for transfer scholarship pricing of $880 per course (regularly $1,665 per course). Additional coursework beyond the 90 quarter units may be required for AA-T, AS-T, and ADN transferred degrees.
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Transfer directly to NU within 36 months of completing a Transferable Associate of Arts, Transferable Associate of Science, or Associate Degree for Transfer (associate degrees that use the CSU Breadth or IGETC and CAL-GETC patterns as general education for degree completion). Degree completion must be verified by an official transcript or a letter from the community college registrar.
- Following bachelor's degrees are excluded:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Generic Entry)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Second-Bachelor Degree)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (LVN to BSN)
- Undergraduate Certificates – LVN “30 Unit” Option
- Have not attended NU previously.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

What is the ADT Scholarship?
The ADT Scholarship is designed for California Community College transfer students who have completed a transferable Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT). The ADT scholarship provides students with a $10,000 tuition reduction applied toward their bachelor’s program, reducing annual tuition to only $7,000 per year.
Who qualifies for the Associate Degree for Transfer Scholarship?
You’re eligible if you:
* Have completed a transferable AA-T, AS-T, ADN or ADT degree from a California community college, and
* Apply to National University within 36 months of finishing your degree.
FAFSA completion is also required.
How do transfers work at NU?
If you’ve earned an ADT, AA-T, AS-T or ADN (associate degree nursing) from a California community college, you can transfer directly to National University within 36 months. Depending on your degree, you may need some additional coursework beyond 90 quarter units, but your transfer credits will maximize progress toward your bachelor’s
What degree programs can I transfer into with this scholarship?
The scholarship applies to many NU bachelor’s programs — from business and psychology to technology and public service. An admissions advisor can confirm your chosen major’s eligibility. The scholarship is only applicable to programs in NU’s class-based modality. group-based programs are not currently eligible.
How much will I pay with the ADT Scholarship?
The ADT Scholarship lowers tuition from $1665 to $880 per course.* Assuming a standard full-time course load (eight courses per year), you could pay roughly $7,000 per year. The scholarship applies to a maximum of 20 courses, helping you save significantly as you complete your bachelor’s degree, and finish your bachelor's degree in 18 months or less.
