Personal Information
27 years of continuous related experience as a Registered Nurse including Education, Emergency, Flight-Helicopter, Occupational Health, Pediatrics, Post Anesthesia Care, and Trauma nursing; 23 years nursing experience at the bedside; 20 years experience as a nursing instructor. Presently, I am in the process of completing my EdD study which is a meta-analysis of the impact of emotional intelligence instruction and training upon the critical thinking skills and the emotional competency of nurses and nursing students.
Research
I am working as a per diem research nurse at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Neurology with the Field Administration of Stroke Therapy – Magnesium Phase 3 Clinical Trial. This is an NIH-NINDS-sponsored study whose goal is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of field-initiated magnesium sulfate in improving the long-term functional outcome of patients with acute stroke.
