The eTeaching and Learning Specialization in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program is designed to meet the growing need for quality online instructors in PK - 16, community colleges, and corporations. The specialization focuses on: learning and applying effective student-centered online pedagogical skills, developing online curriculum that adheres to the National Standards for Quality Online Teaching, and assessing online learning using multiple assessment strategies. Upon completion of this specialization, candidates will be prepared to effectively teach in the online learning environment.

  1. Analyze professional standards, trends and issues in the online environment.
  2. Demonstrate the use of active teaching and assessment strategies for the online environment.
  3. Apply evidence-based best practices research in the online teaching environment.
