Meet Our Dean
Dr. Gloria J. McNeal has been dean of National University’s School of Health and Human Services since July 2013. Prior to joining National University, she served as the founding dean of the Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, California.
McNeal holds a doctorate in higher education administration and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Her Bachelor of Science in Nursing was earned at Villanova University. She holds national board certifications in her field and has held several pre- and post-doctoral fellowships.
Since 2006, McNeal has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and is a 2007 Fellow of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Program. She is the recipient of over $12 million in extramural grant awards and the author of over 140 articles, abstracts, editorials, book, and chapters. McNeal is a former Navy Nurse Corps officer, earning two medals of commendation.
