Casino Internship
Course Description
This course is on-the-job learning experience which matches individual HCM students with working mentors in a major casino. This will provide an in depth application to the entire range of Casino operations, exclusive of the table games and slots departments. These operations are divided into the following departments: Administration, Finance, Cash Operations, Security, Food & Beverage, Retail Stores, entertainment, Guest Services or Customer Service, Marketing and Human Resources. Over the course of the work experience, students will gain valuable hands-on experience as they rotate through these departments. Weekly mentoring provides extra depth and background. Students are expeted to put this learning to use in actual casino operations under the supervision of a trained gaming professional. At the end of each module, the student will write a short paper describing the learning achieved during the module.
Learning Outcomes
- Apply the six components of basic non-restricted functions in Indian gaming operations under the guidance of a trained gaming professional, through hands-on experience.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the departments of a working casino including administration, finance, cash operations, security, food and beverage, retail stores, entertainment, customer service, marketing and human resources.
- Demonstrate their knowledge and skills by completing prescribed modules in where students will apply their knowledge and skills in the work environment.
