San Diego, Calif. – Feb. 2, 2016 – Associate Professor Dr. Dee L. Fabry, co-chair of the Teacher Education Department at National University, California’s second-largest, private nonprofit university, has been named to a national task force convened to help better prepare teachers to use assessment effectively.
As more businesses and organizations recognize the economic benefits of being environmentally responsible, demand is increasing for leaders in sustainable management practices. To address these needs, National University and University of California, San Diego Extension are introducing an innovative partnership that offers students pathways to pursue studies in the growing field of sustainability management.

Andrews, Dean and Professor of the top-ranked School of Education at Johns Hopkins University, has been named President effective April 1, 2016. The appointment marks a new chapter for National University, which is California’s second-largest, private nonprofit university, and has grown to include more than two dozen campuses and house one of the Top Ten largest schools of education in the country.

Denny Sanford, National University is pleased to announce its school of education has been named the Sanford College of Education. Considered to be one of America’s most generous philanthropists, Mr. Sanford has contributed more than one billion dollars to projects aimed at improving our society through children’s causes, health research and education. The new College name recognizes his role in developing and supporting programs that address a critical need for world-class teachers.
San Diego, Calif. – Nov. 10, 2015 – City of San Diego employee Nicole McNeil, who has demonstrated her commitment to public service as a pool manager in the City Heights community, is the recipient of the City of San Diego/National University Professional Development Scholarship. The scholarship will allow McNeil to complete her studies at National University, and is the result of a partnership in which National University – the second-largest, private, nonprofit university in California – is the City’s designated Preferred Employee Education Program Partner.
San Diego, Calif. – Nov. 12, 2015 –The Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University is pleased to announce the latest in a series of seminars being offered to help nonprofits improve their fundraising potential and strengthen donor relationships. The Nov. 17 hands-on seminar – which comes just in time for the year-end giving season - will focus on helping nonprofits fine-tune their funding “pitches” before a panel of prominent fundraising leaders and qualify for a chance to receive vouchers for upcoming seminars. Each participant will also receive a complimentary copy of the book Cause Selling The Sanford Way, based on the vision of philanthropist T. Denny Sanford.

Dr. Rodriguez has a proven track record in advancing organizations and causes, having served as chief marketing and development officer for a program of the Kauffman Foundation, the world’s leading private foundation dedicated to educational achievement and entrepreneurial success.
San Diego, Calif. - Sept. 30, 2015 – Marking its first-year anniversary today, the Sanford Education Center at National University recognized educators and nonprofit leaders with special awards for their contributions to philanthropy and education. The recipient of the “Humanitarian of the Year” award was philanthropist Conrad Prebys, and Dr. David Lorden, Superintendent of Lakeside Union School District in San Diego County, was named “Educator of the Year.”

Denny Sanford and serves as the foundation of a series of educational programs being offered through the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University, the second largest private nonprofit university in California.
San Diego, Calif. – Sept. 28, 2015 – Robots and a modified human powered vehicle by National University and National University Academy (NUA) students will be featured at the first-ever Maker Faire San Diego Oct. 3-4 in Balboa Park. The projects were developed through a collaboration between the University’s School of Engineering and Computing and high school students who are part of the Academy’s special STEM-focused program.
