If you were issued a credential by California, another state, or another country, see your credential analyst immediately. If you are transferring from a credential program at another institution, you will need a letter of good standing from that institution. Credential students may transfer up to 13.5 quarter units of course work applicable to their program, subject to the following conditions:

  • A student with applicable course work from another institution may have an advisor or a faculty member fill out the online course equivalency form, and the student must provide the Office of the Registrar with an official transcript showing this course work.
  • A course taken elsewhere with a grade of “B-” or below is not transferable to National University.
  • A course more than seven years old is not transferable to National University.
  • A credential course taken elsewhere at the undergraduate level will be waived from a joint master’s-credential program, but the student will still need to meet the graduate unit requirement by taking master’s-level elective in its place.
  • A credential course taken through the extension division of another university is not transferable to National University for credit. Its equivalent at National University will be waived from a joint master’s-credential program, the student will still need to meet the graduate unit requirement by taking master’s-level elective in its place.
  • A course taken at a college without regional accreditation is not transferable to National University.
