Los Angeles Lakers Educator of the Month

National University and the Los Angeles Lakers are teaming up to celebrate K-12 educators.

Nominate an Educator Who Makes a Difference

National University is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Lakers to recognize educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of their students, schools, and communities. Each month from October through March, two exceptional K-12 educators in the Los Angeles area will be selected as Lakers Educators of the Month and celebrated during a Lakers home game.

Nominees must be K-12 educators who work within Los Angeles County and are able to attend a Lakers home game in person. Nominations are open to teachers, school administrators, counselors, and other eligible K-12 educators.

Celebrating the Educators Who Show up for Their Communities

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for Lakers Educator of the Month, nominees must:
Be a K–12 educator in the Los Angeles County area.
Be nominated through the official online nomination form.
Have a completed nomination submitted by 11:59 p.m. PDT on the last day of the month to be considered for the following month.
Be available to attend a designated Lakers game, with the date and time confirmed with finalists prior to selection.
Have a nomination that includes complete and accurate information and all required supporting documentation.

Here’s what the recognition includes:

On-Court Celebration
Selected educators will be escorted on the court at a Lakers home game for a pre-game on-court recognition.
Game-Day Experience
Selected educators and their guests will receive tickets and experience this special Lakers celebration together.
ESPN LA Radio Feature
Selected educators will be invited for a live call-in on ESPN LA Radio ahead of their recognition.
Celebration Beyond the Game
Recipients will receive NU-branded swag and a Harmony Classroom Kit and may enroll at no cost in either the Harmony Educator Certificate or Harmony Leader Certificate program, with the opportunity to earn CEUs.

2. Submit Your Nomination
Tell us what makes this educator exceptional and the difference they make.

3. We’ll Review the Nominations
We’ll consider nominations submitted by the last day of each month for the following month’s recognition.

4. Celebrate Their Impact
If selected, the educator and nominator will be contacted by an NU representative with details about the game-day experience.
