David Servino, PhD, LMFT-S, earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brigham Young University. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of Connecticut and a doctoral degree in MFT from Texas Tech University. His clinical training and experience have included time spent working in medical family therapy, with incarcerated youth, with federal probationers transitioning back into society after prison, and in a residential substance abuse treatment facility. He also worked for the Veteran’s Administration counseling with combat veterans and their family members and had a private practice from 2014 until 2019. At NU Dr. Servino teaches courses in the MFT master’s and doctoral programs. Clinically, he has a particular interest in LGBTQ+, addiction, faith transitions, and couples’ intimacy issues.
