2015 National University Military Scholarship Recipients

 The National University Military Scholarship recognizes National University students who live in San Diego, are active military or military veterans, and who have demonstrated sustained educational success and leadership. The scholarship program is funded by National University and the San Diego Padres, and to date $40,000 in scholarships have been granted. It is part of the more than $10 million Nation University provides annually to military and veteran students through scholarships, tuition discounts and other support services.

National University and San Diego Padres Honor Military Scholarship Recipients

 San Diego, Calif. – July 24 , 2015 –Recognizing the many contributions of the military community, National University and the San Diego Padres will honor ten recipients of the National University Military Scholarship at the July 26th San Diego Padres game at Petco Park against the Miami Marlins. The recognitions are part of the University’s Military Appreciation Day, which includes a hosted reception for members of the military community and other activities that underscore the value of supporting ongoing education opportunities for veterans and military personnel.

National University to Co-Host Unprecedented Gathering of California Teachers

San Diego, Calif. –July 9, 2015 – National University, which recommends more teachers for credentials than any other university in California, will co-host Better Together: California Teachers Summit in San Diego on July 31. This first-of-its kind event led by teachers, for teachers is expected to draw 20,000 teachers at 33 locations across the state, including San Diego’s Town & Country Convention Center. The free summit is designed to help teachers build a powerful network of peers, share best practices and access effective resources to implement the new California Standards.

National University Hosting San Diego Cyber Security Boot Camp for middle and high school students

San Diego, Calif. – June 19, 2015 – National University, the only institution in San Diego County designated by the federal government as a National Center of Academic Excellence in cyber defense education, will host 50 middle and high school students during the 2015 San Diego Cyber Cup Boot Camp from June 22-26. The event is organized by Securing Our eCity Foundation in coordination with community partners, including ESET North America.

Pinning Ceremony for National University Graduating Nursing Students Features National Healthcare Advocate

 National University nursing students are carrying on the tradition of the pinning ceremony, a recognition of newly-graduated nurses, in advance of the University’s June 17 Commencement ceremonies. The event features keynote speaker, G. Rumay Alexander, EdD, RN, whose nursing career spans over 21 years in the areas of public policy, advocacy, teaching, and health careers development with an emphasis on cultural diversity issues.
