Renowned Philanthropist Conrad Prebys and Lakeside Superintendent Dr. David Lorden Honored by Sanford Education Center

 San Diego, Calif. - Sept. 30, 2015 – Marking its first-year anniversary today, the Sanford Education Center at National University recognized educators and nonprofit leaders with special awards for their contributions to philanthropy and education. The recipient of the “Humanitarian of the Year” award was philanthropist Conrad Prebys, and Dr. David Lorden, Superintendent of Lakeside Union School District in San Diego County, was named “Educator of the Year.”

 San Diego, Calif. - Sept. 30, 2015 – Marking its first year anniversary, the National University-based Sanford Education Center announces the launch of a new textbook aimed at helping nonprofit organizations maximize their fundraising potential through the application of proven business and sales principles. The book - Cause Selling The Sanford Way - is based on the vision of philanthropist T. Denny Sanford and serves as the foundation of a series of educational programs being offered through the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University, the second largest private nonprofit university in California.

National University System Students Build Robots and Adapt Human Powered Vehicle for Maker Faire San Diego

 San Diego, Calif. – Sept. 28, 2015 – Robots and a modified human powered vehicle by National University and National University Academy (NUA) students will be featured at the first-ever Maker Faire San Diego Oct. 3-4 in Balboa Park. The projects were developed through a collaboration between the University’s School of Engineering and Computing and high school students who are part of the Academy’s special STEM-focused program.

National University to Open a `Health Clinic Without Walls' in Watts

 Los Angeles, Calif. – Sept. 15, 2015 – National University - the second largest private, nonprofit university in California - is partnering with UCLA and several community organizations to set up a revolutionary neighborhood `health clinic without walls’ that uses the latest telehealth technologies to bring comprehensive medical care to residents of the Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts. The initiative is the result of a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to the School of Health and Human Services at National University.
