Where are National University courses held?
Courses are taught in the traditional class setting at 28 campuses around the state of California and in Henderson, Nevada. Over 40 of National's programs are also taught online for students who are not near a campus or need more flexibility.
How are the traditional classes taught in one month?
The classes still have the same amount of time and learning outcomes as a traditional class. The difference is that instead of being spread out, the information is focused in an intense month long class. For example, the traditional classes are taught on-campus are either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. Graduate courses also have one half-day Saturday (morning or afternoon). Undergraduate courses usually have two half-day Saturdays. This schedule allows students to focus on one subject, to learn the same amount of information in a shorter amount of time, and the result is that they earn their degree in a shorter amount of time.
Why only one course per month?
Adults generally like to focus on one course at a time instead of several courses as in most traditional universities and colleges.
How can I apply?
You can apply in person at a campus near you or through the online application process.
How will I know how many courses I need to complete my degree or credential?
After all of your paperwork has been completed and your transcripts received and evaluated by the Registrar's Office, you will be able to access your Degree Progress Report, which will tell you exactly what courses will be required to complete your program. For Graduate students, the average time to evaluate prior course work is 15 days from when all of the paperwork and transcripts have been received by the Registrar. For Undergraduate students, the average time to evaluate prior course work is 20 days from when all of the paperwork and transcripts have been received by the Registrar.
