Empowering you to create blended instruction in traditional classroom or online environments, completing this certificate will help you feel more confident and competent when applying multi-modal learning strategies to your unique learners — all culminating in the creation of an online teaching portfolio.
These modules are intended to help all K12 teachers learn to transition to online teaching, adapting to online or multi-modal (online and traditional) classrooms. In addition, teacher’s aides and others who may need to design online courses will benefit from the content. This professional development certificate does not lead toward teaching certification, licensure, or credentialing.
Program Details
This ten-module online professional development certificate is designed to provide you with practical skills to create engaging multi-modal courses. You will build your skills in multi-modal teaching to enhance the classroom experience with multimedia, videos, and asynchronous assessment. Upon completion, you will have a deep understanding of the online learner’s perspective and therefore be capable of building a strong online classroom.
Participants can earn one continuing education unit for each module in the certificate, earning up to ten (10) possible total continuing education units. Those looking to earn a Master of Arts in Education (MAE) can use these modules to waive two academic courses in the program through prior learning assesment.

There are no specific eligibility requirements to enroll, this is open to individuals who would like to learn how to transition from a traditional classroom to an online classroom including both credentialed and non-credentialed teachers. Additionally, those who work in schools and may support building online classrooms are also welcome to participate.

Students can complete an entire module in a day or across a month if they prefer. Learners will have up to six months to complete each module.
