How to Use the On-Site Writing Center
The On-Site Writing Center provides face-to-face tutoring assistance at the Fresno campus and the Spectrum Center Library in San Diego to students taking classes online or on-site. The On-Site Writing Center is available most weekdays (with the exception of University holidays) and offers 40-minute synchronous sessions. To use the On-Site Writing Center, all you need is an active email account and the ability to be physically present on-site for your appointment. We encourage you to book your on-site appointments in advance, but you may also physically drop in to see if a tutor is available to work with you.
To Access the On-Site Writing Center:
- Go to the online scheduler and make an appointment.
- Prior to your appointment, if you have reserved your appointment on the scheduler, you will receive an email with instructions on where to go for your on-site meeting. (If you don’t see an email from the Writing Center, check your spam or junk folder to see if it was routed there.) If you have specific questions about your appointment or you wish to cancel it and cannot do so using the scheduler, you may email your tutor at [email protected]. In order to get the most out of your appointment time, please be prepared to tell your tutor what you would like to focus on in your time together.
- If you have documents you’d like to share with your tutor, such as assignment instructions or a draft you’re working on, you may use an on-site computer or a laptop or other device you bring with you. Alternately, you may choose to bring paper materials to use during your appointment.
We look forward to working with you!
