Learning Experience

Who We Are

The Learning Experience (LeX) team assists NU stakeholders in providing world-class learning for all levels and types of learners through the creation of shared meaning, the deployment of development opportunities for stakeholders, support for practitioners, and the delivery of scientific, artistic, and flexible learning experiences.

Course Development

Learning experience designers (LXDs) partner with course authors and academic leaders to create and redesign NU courses, relying on the MVC/WCL to ensure they are co-creating world-class learning experiences. Course Development includes the creative team who engage learners through interactive and multimedia instructional creations.

Academic Technology

Academic Technology works to ensure a stable, modern learning ecosystem to house NU courses and course tools and provides technical expertise to create and integrate tools to support teaching and learning. The team also partners with IT to extract useful data to inform decisions around learning.

OLIS

Online Learning and Instructional Support (OLIS) supports faculty in their use of the learning management system (LMS), with direct support over the phone, email, and Zoom. They positively impact learning through the rollout of courses, the delivery of course materials and etexts, and the fixing of broken course content in the LMS.

Program Success

The Program Success team collaborates with academic leaders to set priorities for course and program creation and maintenance. They guide the Schools through the program lifecycle from creation to sunset. Together with Strategic Intelligence, they research market viability for proposed new courses and programs. They also support the Schools’ work toward measuring program health.

Specialty Team

This group supports teaching and learning through innovative approaches to credentials and experiential learning, learning outcomes, data mining and analysis, and effective internal project management processes.
