Dr. Mudasser Wyne

Dr. Wyne has a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Database), M.Sc. in Engineering, and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. Currently I serve as a Professor of Computer Science and am intimately involved with program development and streamlining of existing programs to align them towards the future demands of academia. I am currently the Academic Program Director for MS in Computer Science and have also served as the Program Lead for MSc in Database Administration programs, BS in Information Systems, BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I also served as Chair of NU Research Council, Chair of the Council of Chairs, Chair of the Undergraduate Council Program review committee, Chair of the Graduate Council Program review committee and Chair of the School of Academic Affairs committee.

My association with ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) US dates back to 2001, as a certified program evaluator for BSc in Computer Science and BSc in Information Systems. I served as the Commissioner for the Computer Accreditation Commission (CAC) and have been in the role of ABET Visit Team Chair 2010-15. Ongoing assessment of academic programs is a personal interest of mine, and I am involved on an ongoing basis at the departmental, school and university levels.

Previously, I have taught in 7 different countries for over 30 years. I have been privileged to be part of the DESY Group (Deutches Elecktronen Synchrotron), Hamburg Germany, as a research fellow, and worked with an MIT group, led by a Nobel laureate.

On the research side, I have been fortunate enough to secure a number of grants and have served on numerous international Ph.D. Thesis committees, been a member of the editorial boards for 7 international journals and served as the Chair and Co-Chair for 15 international conferences. For recognition of my research activities, I have been invited to several international conferences as Invited Speaker, chaired panel discussions and numerous international conference sessions. I have served on more than 200 international conference program committees. Furthermore, I have published number of articles in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. I am also an active member of ACM, ASEE, and CSAB.

During my career I have received many awards in recognition; 2018 ‘The Dedication to Student Success Award’, National University. 2015-16 Fulbright Scholar Award, USA. 2015 National University Bridge Award finalist for Collaboration, Communication and Collegiality. 2014 ABET Appreciation Certificate, for conducting a very difficult accreditation visit as team chair. 2013 and 2018 National University Professoriate Award. 2006 Golden Apple award, University of Michigan-Flint). I have also received two best paper awards at two peer reviewed international conferences.
