Course Description
This course focuses on analytical and empirical tools that allow designers and manufacturing engineers to predict the manufacturing and assembly cost estimates for optimized design.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand basic features of design for manufacturability.
- Utilize opportunities of developing high-quality products for the lowest manufacturing cost.
- Analyze major constraints and know-how in designing products for function, quality, reliability, maintainability, and benefits to the environment.
- Contrast between different types of optimized design.
