Course Description

Drawing and interpretation of plans, sections, details, symbols, notes and details in architectural, construction and shop drawings. Coordination and reference between drawings. Specification creation incorporating material properties, construction techniques and legal factors. Industry standards from AIA and CSI are presented.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals of interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in reading surveys, site improvement, foundations, structures, mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Explain construction bid documents and related bidding procedures.
  • Apply specification principles and contract procedures and conditions.
