Who We Are

Faculty Onboarding Training and Professional Development

The Academic Training Academy team supports each phase of a faculty member’s experience at National University. In service to NU’s 2000+ faculty, the ATA team provides:

  • Onboarding courses for incoming faculty in both the class-based and one-to-one modalities.
  • Custom Tiered Course series for faculty, course authors, and course editors.
  • Live workshop series focused on current and emergent topics in higher education.
  • ATA Bytes focusing on essential faculty technical skills.
  • On-demand videos, job aids, guides, and templates.
  • Resources with a focus on advancing inclusion of all faculty, staff, and students.

Student Support

The Academic Training Academy supports students across both course modalities through:

  • On-demand videos, guides, and templates available 24/7 on the ATA website and in the Graduate Studies Support Center. These resources focus on essential student skills, including navigating NU Brightspace/NCUOne, Office365, and Turnitin.
  • Self-paced student orientation roadmaps in NU Brightspace and NCUOne: Homeroom and the Great Start series.
  • Skill Up series featuring live workshops hosted by faculty and alumni focusing on important academic skills for students.
  • No-cost financial literacy course and webinar series.

Academic Training Academy Online

The Academic Training Academy manages multiple on-demand resource and engagement hubs: 

  • For faculty, these include the NU Faculty-Student Interaction Playbook, ATA SharePoint site, the Academic Training Academy Website, and the Faculty Resource Area within The Commons.
  • For students, these include the Graduate Studies Support Center, the Academic Training Academy website, and the GSSC area within The Commons.

The Academic Training Academy is dedicated to providing accessible support and resources to ensure faculty and students have the best experience teaching and learning at National University.
