Dr. Nanette Fritschmann

Nanette Fritschmann is an associate professor of special education, serving Sanford College of Education candidates and public, non-public, and charter schools across Orange County, from the Costa Mesa Regional Center. She started her career in special education as a resource specialist supporting student success across multiple academic areas and grade levels. After earning her Ph.D. in special education from the University of Kansas, she held tenure-line faculty positions at Lehigh University and the College of William and Mary. Upon returning to CA, Dr. Fritschmann developed high quality teacher preparation programs at both the Orange County Department of Education and Loyola Marymount University; she has been supporting National University students and programs since 2015. Dr. Fritschmann focuses her research in the areas of adolescent literacy, academic interventions, and developing the reading comprehension and inferential reading skills in students with mild/moderate disabilities.
