National University Receives $1.05 Million Federal Grant to Enhance Veteran Preparation for Nursing Careers
San Diego, Calif. - Aug. 28, 2014 - As the nation faces an urgent need for more trained nursing professionals, National University announces the creation of the Accelerated Track for Vets to BSN (V2BSN) Project that is being launched to provide veterans interested in nursing careers with academic and professional support through a three-year $1.05 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. National University Student Awarded National Scholarship for Women Pursuing Information and Cyber Security Careers
San Diego, Calif. - August 14, 2014 - Sherri Pearlman, a former Marine Corporal pursuing her master's degree at National University, has been named one of 11 recipients of the Women Studying Information Security (SWSIS) scholarship program, which aims to increase the number of women pursuing careers in information security-related fields. Pearlman is enrolled in the Cyber Security and Information Assurance program at National University, California's second-largest private, nonprofit university. Continue reading »
Dr. Allyson Handley, President of University of Maine at Augusta, Appointed Executive Director of National University's Sanford Education Center
San Diego, Calif. - Aug. 14, 2014 - National University, California's second-largest private, nonprofit university, announced today the appointment of Dr. Allyson Handley as Executive Director of the Sanford Education Center, which is scheduled to formally launch Sept. 18. Handley who is currently President of the University of Maine at Augusta has an extensive background in higher education public policy and leadership, and holds a Doctor of Education degree from Johns Hopkins University. In her new role at the Sanford Education Center she will oversee the development and national implementation of three programs that address critical needs in the nonprofit and education sectors.
