How to Use the Online Writing Center
The online writing center provides tutoring assistance to students via the Internet, to students taking classes online or onsite. The online writing center is available seven days a week every day that the University is open, and offers 40-minute synchronous online sessions using web conferencing software, email, telephone, or a combination of these. To use the online writing center, you need is an active email account, an Internet connection, and phone line. A headset with a microphone works best for audio conferencing.
NOTE: You must remain online during the session in order to interact with the writing consultant.
To access the Online writing Center:
- Go to the online scheduler and make an appointment.
- Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email explaining how to join your online meeting. (If you don’t see an email from the Writing Center, check your spam or junk folder to see if it was routed there.) If you have a draft to work on, you may email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. So you may get the most out of your appointment time, please be prepared to tell the consultant what you would like to focus on in your time together.
We look forward to working with you!
