This course is taken concurrently with TED 530A: Student Teaching I and provides student teachers with opportunities to integrate and reflect on knowledge, skills, and dispositions acquired during their clinical experiences. Candidates focus on assessing PK12 student learning and are required to pass CalTPA Task (3) Assessing Learning. Grading is by S or U only. Eligible for In Progress (IP) grading.
- Evaluate the influences of professional dispositions, knowledge, and skills on improving PK12 student learning and effective teaching practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the designed lesson plans for profiled students (students with exceptionalities; English learners; middle-lower-higher academic students) by using PK12 student work samples to interpret student-learning evidence, diagnose students’ instructional needs, design assessment accommodations and adaptations, and determine implications for future instruction.
- Analyze the effectiveness of assessment strategies and adaptations/modifications, assessment measures, and student-learning evidence for identified standards based outcomes and related instructional activities.
- Investigate the influences of on PK12 student learning through a multi-cultural perspective focusing on community, family, school, and classroom.
