Adaptation Practicum

Course Description

Building on core screenwriting courses, this advanced studio practicum focuses on writing a feature length screenplay based upon the outline created in SCR683 and, in consultation with the instructor, will create an action plan for future revision. This course is graded S, U, or H.

Learning Outcomes

  • Synthesize advanced screenwriting study to write a screenplay that is an adaptation of source material from another medium.
  • Incorporate constructive criticism in a forward plan for screenplay revision.
  • Analyze the experience of writing an adapted screenplay in a reflective journal.
