Age & Normative Developmental Transitions

Course Description

This course examines the theories of development as applied to the clinical assessment, diagnosis,and treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Areas considered will include diversity, gender, and multi-cultural issues as well as identifying normative developmental transitions and their differentiation from deviant developmental patterns

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply the concepts of normal and atypical development as they relate to the development of children and the practice of psychotherapy.
  • Apply the concepts of normal and atypical development as they apply to the development of adolescents and the practice of psychotherapy.
  • Apply the concepts of normal and atypical development as they relate to the development of adults and the practice of psychotherapy.
