Short Film and New Media
Course Description
Covers the development of short-form media content for distribution on the Internet and mobile devices. Written products include outlines, treatments, and conceptual storyboards for a short film or webisode pilot that incorporate images, text, audio, and video elements. Project ideas will be adapted for the Capstone Production Practicum.
Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate the directorial approach to a short fiction film.
- Evaluate the narrative elements and plot structure of short narrative films and media programs.
- Illustrate narrative concepts using appropriate visual references.
- Construct a narrative outline and script for a short fiction film or media project.
