Dirk is a native San Diegan with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from National University. He teaches at National University in the School of Engineering and Computing and is the Program Director for the Construction Management and Construction Engineering Technology degree programs. Dirk is also the Director of Public Works at the City of El Cajon. Within the Department of Public Works at El Cajon, he oversees all design, construction, and operation activities including Project Management, Construction Management, Inspection, and Maintenance of Streets, Parks, Wastewater, Storm Drains, Fleet Vehicles, and Buildings. Dirk currently serves on the Board for the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) San Diego.
