Sport Psychology for Coaches
Course Description
This course looks at the significant developments in the history of coaching and sport psychology. Contemporary research on successful coaching will be discussed and applied to athletic performance.
Learning Outcomes
- Utilize research skills to understand and describe current applications of sport psychology to coaching and leadership
- Describe how sport psychology training and techniques can be applied to frequently encountered coaching issues in sport.
- Describe successful coaching strategies and apply them to a series of case scenarios.
- Develop Mental Skills Training plans designed to implement sport psychology principles into personal coaching and leadership situations.
