ECE654 Collaborative Partnerships

Examines interpersonal communication skills required for early childhood teachers and leaders. Examines strategies for enhancing parent-professional partnerships, consultation skills and issues relating to interactive teaming and the larger community.
- Develop an understanding of the educator's role in facilitating communication between parents, EC programs, to include awareness of skills needed by the educator in collaborative, consultative and teaming situations.
- Evaluate Family Systems theory-structures and functions of all families, particularly with families of diverse backgrounds and/or who have children who are at-risk or have disabilities.
- Apply the ability to build an effective collaborative partnership.
