La Jolla, Calif. – National University provides more master’s degrees in all disciplines to African Americans than any other college or university in California, according to Diverse Issues in Higher Education.
In total, National University conferred 274 master’s degrees to African Americans in the 2005-2006 academic year.
By specific disciplines, National University also ranks first in California and 14th in the nation in granting master’s degrees in education to African Americans, conferring 174 such degrees during the above-mentioned period. National University also ranks first in California in granting master’s degrees in psychology to African Americans, conferring 31 degrees in that category.
Diverse Issues in Higher Education publishes its annual rankings of the top 100 colleges and universities providing graduate degrees to minority students each July. The rankings are based upon data from the U.S. Department of Education.
