Latest Edition of the Gnu Showcases NU literary talent

The latest edition of National University’s Literary Journal, the GNU, was published in January. It includes poetry, fiction, non-fiction essays, and short plays, from writers around the country.

The GNU is a bi-annual publication, providing a comprehensive creative platform for student writers at National University. It is sponsored by the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program. The editors are students in the MFA in Creative Writing Program. Writers from all academic programs are welcome to submit their work for consideration at

“Our student editors put together a first-rate nation-wide literary journal,” said Frank Montesonti, lead faculty for the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program. “We received hundreds of submissions from around the country, and our student editors chose a diverse group of authors that fulfill the journal's mission of placing genre writing right next to more academic fare."

Editor in Chief, Diane O’Shea is a graduate of the MFA program and author of the book of short stories, Fragile.
