Education Career Fair Seeks More than Teachers
Job seekers of all disciplines are invited to attend the National University Education Career Fair on March 9.
Alumni and students will have the opportunity to meet with prospective employers in the education field and gain valuable information regarding the job market. This event will attract school districts from around San Diego County who are willing to network with job candidates from all majors.
“Schools are currently seeking to fill staff positions other than teaching; positions and supporting roles, as well as addressing a huge shortage in substitute teachers,” said Anne Mandel, Associate Director of Career Services for National University.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a statewide teacher shortage has districts competing to fill jobs. Last fall, the California Department of Education estimated that districts throughout the state were shy about 21,500 teachers this school year.
The Education Career Fair runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at National University’s Spectrum Academic Center, 9388 Lightwave Ave, San Diego, CA 92123. For more information, please contact Esperanza Bunn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
