Personal Statement
Originally from New York, Theresa began her nursing career at New York University Medical Center holding a position in the Medical Department where she climbed the clinical ladder in two years. At that time, she was promoted to Clinical Coordinator for the Medical Service where she had responsibility for over 110 beds. After relocating to Nevada, Theresa worked in intermediate care and intensive care at Desert Springs Hospital for two years and then accepted a nursing supervisor position with Southwest Medical Associates. Two years later, Theresa was promoted to Director of Nursing at Southwest Medical Associates and spent the next 14 years in various administrative positions including Director of Nursing, Director of Operations, Director of Informatics and Executive Director. Theresa also was the first Chief Nursing Officer at Desert View Regional Medical Center in Pahrump, Nevada where she was instrumental in the opening of the facility. Theresa has been a member of the National University nursing faculty since February 2008.
