Personal Information
Dr. Gina Piane has more than 25 years experience in the Public Health Field. Dr. Piane is a Certified Health Education Specialist and has experience working with diverse communities and patients of all ages and backgrounds. She taught MPH students at Northern Illinois University and California State University, Long Beach before coming to National University as the director of the Master of Public Health program. Dr. Piane conducts research in Health Behavior and International Health. Her most current research studies investigate the evidence-based interventions to reduce Maternal Mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Piane is a member of the American Public Health Association, the Society for Public Health Education, and the Southern California Public Health Association. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Piane has traveled extensively with students studying the health care issues and systems of India, Thailand, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Chile, and Brazil.
