Course Prerequisite(s):
Course Description: Introduction to hydraulics, and hydrology concept, focus on the basic water, and wastewater Processes on physical, chemical, and biological treatment. Address the current pollution prevention procedures outlined by the EPA for industry that include source reduction, recycling / reuse treatment.
Course Learning Outcomes:
  • Analyze physical and chemical methods for water and wastewater treatments.
  • Apply Hydraulic, and Hydrology application for water, and wastewater treatment plant.
  • Design types of filtration and sedimentation.
  • Contrast absorption, ion exchange, and aeration.
  • Apply softening and disinfection for water treatment.
  • Compare hydrology and meteorology for water treatment and soil chemistry.
  • Apply compliance with regulations and control pollution.
  • Analyze water, air, and land resources and the threats and engineering solutions to each
  • Evaluate practical environmental problems and evaluate the facility design.
  • Compare the ethical, political, and legal issues on EPA.
  • Analyze the fundamentals of chemistry, biology, hydraulics, and hydrology applicable to sanitary studies.
