TED531B Student Teaching Seminar II
Lead Faculty: Dr. Jo Birdsell
This course is taken concurrently with TED 530B: Student Teaching II. Student teachers will have opportunities to integrate and reflect on designing effective differentiated instruction for diverse PK12 learners, using student work to analyze instructional and assessment decisions, as well as manage safe learning environments for all PK12 students.
- Analyze the effectiveness of an implemented lesson plan based on standards-based outcomes for a PK12 class and identified focus students by examining student work samples, use of class time and resources, students' learning needs, future instructional needs for the students, strengths and weaknesses of the plan, and possible goals for professional practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of personal classroom management strategies implemented in a PK12 classroom by examining class and individual management challenges; common factors; critical events; proposed changes to teaching practices based on analysis; and next steps for professional development.
